Adobe has named India-born Anil Chakravarthy as its next President and Chief Executive Officer, succeeding longtime chief Shantanu Narayen as the software giant looks to accelerate its push into artificial intelligence and agentic software.
Chakravarthy, who currently serves as president of Adobe’s Customer Experience Orchestration business and Worldwide Field Operations, will take over as CEO and join Adobe’s Board of Directors effective December 1.
Shantanu Narayen, who has led Adobe for many years, will transition to the role of Executive Chair. He will work closely with Chakravarthy during the leadership transition and continue supporting Adobe’s ongoing transformation.
The appointment adds Anil Chakravarthy to the growing list of Indian-origin executives leading major global technology companies. His elevation comes at a crucial time for Adobe as the company focuses on artificial intelligence, agentic software and the future of digital experiences.
