More than 20 people have reported to have fallen victim to an alleged downtown Ottawa parking scam after paying thousands of dollars for fake rental contracts. CTV's Katelyn Wilson reports that victims Noah Banks and Kathryn Manley identify Samin Yasar as the man who illegally sublet spaces at 400 Albert Street. Government worker Deepa Rao says she nearly lost $800 in a similar transaction before her bank flagged the e-transfer as suspicious. The Ottawa Police Service confirms it is investigating the face-to-face transactions, while Centurion property management states Yasar has no authority to rent spaces in their buildings.
