Netflix makes big scorebug change for Field of Dreams Game after Opening Night criticism

In its first Major League Baseball broadcast, Netflix debuted a scorebug that drew polarizing reactions on Opening Night. Many viewers complained that the font displaying the pitcher, batter, and pitch count was too tiny and very difficult to read.

Well, Netflix heard the criticism loud and clear, and changed up its scorebug in a massive way for the Field of Dreams Game on Thursday night between the Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Twins in Dyersville, Iowa.

Take a look at the much new, much larger scorebug that the streaming service debuted on Thursday night:

The reactions to the new scorebug have been mixed, with some fans liking it and some fans hating it.

Some viewers also noted how much they preferred the Field of Dreams scorebug from Fox, the game’s broadcaster in 2021 and 2022.

Netflix, which also streamed the 2026 MLB Home Run Derby, won’t broadcast another MLB event until Opening Night in 2027.

So, we’ll have to wait until March 24, 2027, to see if Netflix makes another adjustment to the MLB scorebug. Netflix is in year one of a three-year media rights deal with MLB.
