Wife of former NFL star pays heartwrenching tribute after death by suicide at 38
Super Bowl champion offensive lineman Jordan Devey's wife, Lindsey Devey, has paid tribute to her husband after he died by suicide earlier this week.The 38-year-old, who played for the New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders and Buffalo Bills, was confirmed to have passed away by his family on Thursday. His wife Lindsey posted an emotional tribute on social media to her husband on what would have been their 15th wedding anniversary.Devey was a member of the 2014 Patriots team that defeated the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX, with him starting six games protecting Tom Brady during the regular season."Today would have been our 15th year anniversary," began Lindsey's emotional tribute. "We have filled the walls of our homes and hearts with countless memories, joys, struggles, and triumphs. We brought 4 beautiful children into this world that have your eyes, freckles, and compassion."You were our hero and our hearts ache in your absence. We love you. We miss you. And as you said in your last words to me, 'we’ll talk soon'."A Gofundme page has been launched on behalf of Devey's family, where it was confirmed the former NFL offensive lineman died by suicide. "Tragically, Jordan took his own life, leaving his family to navigate an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking time," the Gofundme page reads."As they face overwhelming emotional and financial challenges, including mounting medical expenses, the community is coming together to support Lindsey and their children."Tributes have since poured in to Devey, one of which came from Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes.Devey played two years with the Chiefs, with him starting seven games during the 2018 season which happened to be Mahomes' rookie year."If you feel so inclined to help somebody today, please let it be this family!" wrote Brittany sharing the Gofundme page.
