It’s the end of the first week for our seventh Prime Minister in ten years, if you’re keeping up.
The King of the North Andy Burnham rode south only to relocate part of No 10 back up in Manchester. He was out of the blocks with some cost of living help, promising to freeze bus fares, ease electricity bills and support for pubs.
The new PM has ruled out an early election and is sticking to these 2024 manifesto promises which include sticking to ‘non-negotiable’ fiscal rules and no increase in national insurance, income tax or VAT.
