Woman abruptly breaks up with boyfriend over ambivalent situation and then wonders whether she overreacted: ‘I said I’m upset either way, leave, and break up with him, saying that if I did the same he would probably be jealous too’

I kinda identify with the boyfriend because I find it truly impossible to decide whether I want to go out. I often put on my pajamas, go to bed, and then regret it and start getting ready to go out. And in my case, there isn’t anything fishy going on; I just find it very hard to decide between the pleasure of staying in or the pleasure of going out, lol. The worst is when I get fully ready to go out, make up and everything, and when I’m about to go out the door, I realize I don’t even want to go and hear loud music coming from everywhere, and also I’m kinda sleepy. Knowing I can still take my decision back relieves me, but taking off my makeup is a nightmare; sometimes I truly can’t believe I have to go through all of that to really feel whether I want to go out or not. Some of us are wired differently, lol. I want to give the benefit of the doubt to this girlfriend because she might have sensed there was something more than that going on in this case, but breaking up in the spot doesn’t solve anything, plus he had offered to stay. Maybe she should confront him and have a serious conversation? I’m a fan of conversations, really; even if in the long run she leaves him, it’s just nicer to leave without anything left to say.
