H-E-B store says goodbye after four decades in business
Back in late May, company officials announced that store, located at 12860 Research Blvd., Austin, TX 78759, would close at the end of July. At the time, an H-E-B employee confirmed to MySA the location is at the end of its lease and company officials opted not to renew at that site."While decisions like this are never easy, we are grateful to the customers, Partners, and community who have supported this store over the years," Cathy Harm, H-E-B senior vice president, Central Texas, said in a late May statement sent to MySA. "As this lease comes to an end, we remain committed to serving this area and have invested in more updated stores nearby to further enhance the shopping experience and provide the products, conveniences, and services our customers deserve."The Texas grocer added the decision to close this store resulted from the company's routine evaluations of its existing network and store footprints. Its final day operating is slated for Friday, July 31.H-E-B will offer both free curbside and delivery services to Spicewood Springs customers in August, as well as is offering all of the store's employees positions at various other H-E-Bs.
