This partnership is built on shared values, with both organisations committed to improving health and wellbeing and supporting more active lifestyles. Athletics has a unique ability to positively impact both physical and mental wellbeing at every stage of life – from early participation in childhood through to elite performance and lifelong involvement in sport. Clonmel Healthcare’s commitment to supporting healthier communities aligns strongly with our vision for the future of athletics in Ireland. We look forward to working together to inspire more people to get involved in our sport.”
Also on hand at today’s launch was Olympian Sophie Becker who said: “Athletics has had a hugely positive impact on my life, and I’m delighted to see organisations like Clonmel Healthcare supporting the sport and investing in health and wellbeing initiatives. Looking after your health, recovery, and overall wellbeing is a vital part of being an athlete, but these principles are equally important for anyone taking part in sport at any level. I hope this partnership can encourage more young people and families to get involved in athletics, become more active, and experience the many benefits that sport can bring.”
The partnership will officially commence in July 2026 and will include health and wellbeing campaigns, athlete storytelling, event activations, educational content and community-focused initiatives designed to encourage more people across Ireland to embrace active lifestyles.
