Mackenzy Mackay returns with his brand new single, “11/10”

Mackenzy Mackay is back with brand-new single, “11/10”, released today via Relentless. “11/10” is the first new music to be released by the York-born, Scottish-raised artist this year and offers fans the very first taste of his highly anticipated, as-yet-unannounced debut album. It introduces a definitive new chapter for Mackenzy, who transitioned from periods of homelessness and couch-surfing to selling out London’s 2,300-capacity Kentish Town Forum in the space of only two years. Having already amassed over 500 million streams and a global fanbase, his return is set to solidify him as one of the definitive DIY breakout success stories of recent years.

Speaking about his new single, Mackenzy says, “It’s a love song with a little heat, about a girl who is off the scale, being unapologetically obsessed and this song doesn’t even do her justice.”

To celebrate the release, Mackenzy returned to the venues that played a part in his journey to this point with a string of intimate underplay shows. The first was on July 10th at London’s The Lower Third, with more dates set to be announced shortly. Marking his first live performances of the year, these shows follow last year’s highly successful “Stripped Back Tour” where tickets were deliberately capped at just £10 to ensure they remained accessible to all fans, regardless of their financial situation. Proving his growing global fanbase, last year Mackenzy played his debut 17-date U.S. tour and has also seen him play sold-out tours across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

There is no silver spoon in Mackenzy Mackay’s story. Raised alongside three siblings by a single mother, Mackay’s early career was marked by financial hardship, grueling day jobs, and times when he was homeless. His music directly reflects this resilience, capturing the magic in the mundane and the triumph of overcoming the odds.
