Festivities marking the 250th anniversary of American independence are now under way across the US.
Over one million people are due to gather on the National Mall in Washington DC for a "full day of programming", according to the White House.
The celebrations will be anchored by keynote remarks from Donald Trump and the "Salute to America" fireworks, which the White House calls the "largest pyrotechnics display in the history of the world".
