On the 225th anniversary of the tourbillon patent, we sit down with Breguet CEO Gregory Kissling to discuss the latest version of the Tourbillon 7047, the brand’s enduring appeal, and the future of one of watchmaking’s most historic names. Before taking the helm at Breguet on October 1st, 2024, Kissling served as Vice President of Product at Omega. Having known him for many years and collaborated on memorable projects such as the Speedmaster Speedy Tuesday editions of 2017 and 2018, we were especially excited to see him take on the role of CEO at Breguet.
Breguet had already made waves last year during its 250th-anniversary celebrations, unveiling a series of new watches that signaled a clear direction for the brand. Among them, the Expérimentale 1 stood out as a particular highlight. On June 26th, Breguet celebrates the 225th anniversary of the tourbillon mechanism with the introduction of a new Tradition Tourbillon 7047 in platinum. The watch combines a tourbillon with a fusée-and-chain transmission. This mechanism delivers a constant force to the regulating organ and helps maintain stable accuracy and balance-wheel amplitude.
