Arsenal have reportedly set sights on signing Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United after his impressive display at the FIFA World Cup. The Gunners are in talks with the Brazilian star's agents and are looking to seal a deal.

According to a Daily Mail report, Newcastle United are aware of Arsenal's interest in their star man. They are yet to decide on the possible sale, but are not blocking an exit.

Thanks for the submission!

Guimaraes is at the FIFA World Cup with Brazil and assisted twice in their win over Haiti on June 24. He has been linked with an exit this summer, and the Gunners are the latest to enter the race.

The Brazilian midfielder had a £100 million release clause in his contract, but that was removed in 2024 when he penned an extension. He now has two years left on his deal, and Arsenal are looking to lure him to the Emirates.

Liverpool were also keeping tabs on the midfielder, and were urged by former Tottenham scout Bryan King to sign the Brazilian. He believes that the Newcastle United star is better than Elliot Anderson and said:

"The boy that always impresses me is the Brazilian boy at Newcastle, the captain. I think he's a good player, he is a good footballer. I could see him causing interest from Man City or Liverpool or Arsenal even. In front, I think he's a better bet than Anderson. If I was going to bring a player into my football club, I'd sooner bring him in than Anderson." "I think Anderson's been hyped up a little bit too much for me. He's a good Premier League player. I ain't sure whether he's a good international player. Believe me, if anybody pays 130 million for him, then football's gone mad."

Manchester City have also been linked with a move for Guimaraes but are focusing elsewhere. Thy Cityzens are in talks to sign Anderson from Nottingham Forest for £130 million.

Bruno Guimaraes is reportedly looking to make a switch after the FIFA World Cup this summer. The Newcastle United star has Arsenal as the leaders in the race to sign him, and could be tempted to join the Emirates side.

Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi have been the main figures for Mikel Arteta's side in the midfield and the Brazilian FIFA World Cup star could be the third player in the starting XI.
