Criminal gang trio jailed for 8 years

Dennis Latham was one of the three men jailed.Three men have been jailed for more than eight years following an investigation into an organised crime ring operating in Moray and the Highlands.Jason Addison (39), Dennis Latham (29), and Michael Tait (30) were sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow on Friday.Addison was sentenced to one year and Latham and Tait each to three years and nine months. They all previously pled guilty at the High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday, April 22.As part of the same enquiry, Gavin Bowie (34) was sentenced to four years and three months in prison at the High Court in Edinburgh, having previously pled guilty on Wednesday, October 8. He was convicted for his involvement in serious organised crime, including trafficking significant quantities of cannabis, cocaine and amphetamine at addresses in Buckie, as well as other locations in Moray and Badenoch, between May 2019 and June 2020.Conor McGregor (33) the head of the group, was sentenced to six years at the High Court in Edinburgh on September 4 for his involvement in serious organised crime, including trafficking significant quantities of cannabis, cocaine, diamorphine and amphetamine, between May 2019 and July 2022 at various locations including Moray, Aviemore and Clydebank. He pled guilty to the charges at the same court on July 15, 2025 having been extradited from Morocco earlier that year to face prosecution. These sentences follow extensive enquiries by officers and international partners including the National Crime Agency, as part of Operation Venetic - a Europe-wide operation to identify and dismantle organised crime groups utilising encrypted devices.Detective Inspector Angus Morrison said: "Police Scotland is committed to removing illegal substances from our communities and we will take all measures to disrupt those involved in the drug trade.
