Netflix’s ‘Peaky Blinders’ Replacement Officially Sets Up 2027 Release Window

Netflix has unleashed a handful of exciting new projects out into the world in 2026, but the streamer has also ushered fans back to some well-known worlds. One of the most exciting returns of the year was that of Peaky Blinders — Netflix released a sequel film set years after the series finale, which arrived earlier this year in March. Peaky Blinders was written and created for TV by Steven Knight, who has become one of the most legendary TV scribes of all time over the years after working with other stars such as Tom Hardy for projects like Taboo. Knight has also been tapped to pen the new James Bond movie in the works at Amazon, but the only thing known about the project at this time is that Denis Villeneuve (director of Dune: Part Two) will helm the film. Near the end of last year, Knight made his official Netflix return for a new series, House of Guinness, which was immediately compared to Peaky Blinders. Netflix dropped all episodes of House of Guinness at once last September, and the film spent weeks dominating streaming charts on its way to picking up over 17 million views across households. While Netflix has yet to come out and publicly confirm the fate of the show, news broke this morning that production on House of Guinness Season 2 will begin early next year in January, seemingly confirming that the show has indeed been renewed. The ending of Season 1 certainly set up the show to return for future seasons, which made it that more confusing when Netflix kept its fate close to the vest — now, House of Guinness could return for Season 2 as soon as late 2027, if production starts early next year as planned. An official synopsis for House of Guinness, which holds marks of 90% from critics and 68% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, reads as follows: “House of Guinness explores an epic story inspired by one of Europe’s most famous and enduring dynasties — the Guinness family. Set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, the story begins immediately after the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, the man responsible for the extraordinary success of the Guinness brewery, and the far-reaching impact of his will on the fate of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, as well as on a group of Dublin characters who work and interact with the phenomenon that is Guinness.” Louis Partridge, famed for his work in the Enola Holmes movies, has a key role in House of Guinness, along with Jack Gleeson, who masterfully portrayed Joffrey Baratheon in Game of Thrones. Plot details about House of Guinness Season 2 are being kept under wraps at this time, and more information likely won’t be made available until the official renewal announcement. Check out all episodes of House of Guinness on Netflix and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of Knight’s future projects. Release Date September 25, 2025 Network Netflix
