Did Mamdani finally get something right?!
Zohran Mamdani just announced an annual fee on luxury properties worth over five million dollars whose owners do not even live in New York City full time and Russell Brand is genuinely conflicted about it. On one hand taxing the ultra wealthy who park their money in empty apartments while ordinary people cannot afford rent seems like basic fairness. On the other hand Russell has serious reservations about government intervention and whether the state should be deciding what is and is not moral with your money. This is the debate nobody in mainstream politics is having honestly.
