AniFest returned to the South Bay, celebrating anime and Japanese pop culture

AniFest, an annual anime convention and cultural festival, returned to the South Bay this past weekend. Hundreds of attendees celebrated all things anime and Japanese culture on Saturday, June 6, at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center. In its 8th year, AniFest had over 100 vendors to explore, community live stage performances, and attendees also got to showcase their best looks in a cosplay contest, according to its website. Fans also got to experience the newly set up V-stag and grabbed a bite from different local food vendors. AniFest’s mission is to support local businesses, Japanese animation, traditional arts, and anime pop culture through entertainment and fun cultural activities, according to its website.
