Pensioner found dead in Cornwall home as man, 36, charged with rape and murder
Police have charged a 36‑year‑old man with rape and murder after a woman in her eighties was found dead at a property near Helston.Edward Holden, of Alexandra Place in Penzance, was arrested after officers discovered the woman at a home in the village of Ashton in the early hours of Friday, May 29.He has since been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Truro Magistrates’ Court on Monday (June 1), according to Cornwall Live.Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed officers were called to a property in Ashton shortly after midnight on Friday.
