South Wales Police said a Section 35 dispersal order has been authorised for a large part of the town centre after youths took part in "criminal activity" and anti-social behaviour on Monday.The order will cover areas including Hannah Street, Station Street, West Taff Street, parts of Syphon Street and Pontypridd Road. It is in place for 24 hours, until 7pm on Tuesday, May 26.Section 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 allows senior police officers to designate areas for a dispersal order for up to 48 hours. It gives police officers the power to order people to move away, even if they are not committing a crime. If they refuse, it can become a criminal offence.Inspector Gregory Methven, said: "There has been several reports of youth related anti-social behaviour and criminal activity in and around the area this evening and this type of behaviour will not be tolerated.
