Dead Good Festival host afterlife event at Mindful Memorials
Taking place as part of York’s Dead Good Festival, Love, Loss and the Afterlife will be held on Sunday, May 17, from 11am to 4pm at Mindful Memorials, York Cemetery, in Cemetery Road.
The free event brings together science, storytelling, and community reflection to help people explore meaning and connection after the loss of a loved one.
The event was founded by Jeremy Spillane, a paranormal researcher (Image: Supplied)
It is the creation of Jeremy Spillane, a paranormal researcher who began investigating the possibility of life after death following the passing of his in-laws, Joan and Roger.
Within days of Joan’s death, Spillane and his family began noticing unusual activity.
Mr Spillane said: "We had all sorts of things happen — the TV and lights switching on by themselves, wild birds interacting with us.
"It felt like Joan was trying to reach out."

He described similarly comforting signs after the death of his father-in-law, adding: "Within hours, he was sending signs too.
"It was comforting to feel they were still with us, even though they had left their physical bodies."
