Toyota’s Corolla Gets A Farewell Tour In Bronze Gold Accents Before 2027 Reset
Three aging Corolla variants get badges, decals, and bronze trim as Toyota prepares to retire the 12th-generation car

Toyota Taiwan marks the 60th anniversary of the popular Corolla.
Special editions of the Altis, Cross, and Sport models are released.
They feature bronze gold accents, decals, and exclusive badging.
The Corolla turns 60 this year, and while the next generation is expected to bring sweeping changes in design and technology, Toyota is sending the current car off with a round of anniversary specials. Taiwan gets the first batch, with 60th Anniversary treatments applied to the Corolla Altis sedan, Corolla Cross SUV, and Corolla Sport hatchback.

Starting with the Corolla Altis, the sedan gains a bronze gold finish for the grille and intake garnish, reaching for an upmarket look. These are combined with Corolla decals on the profile, 60th anniversary emblems on the front fenders, and 17-inch aluminum wheels with a bi-tone finish.

The bronze gold accents are dialed back on the Corolla Cross, showing up only on the slim grille and the tailgate lettering. The Corolla Sport gets the lightest touch of the three, sticking with its usual chrome and gloss black garnish and adding only the anniversary emblems and side decals. Both the crossover and the hatchback roll on 18-inch alloys, each with its own design.

Inside, all three models receive a heavy application of bronze gold trim across the dashboard, center console, steering wheel, and door cards, paired with matching stitching.
The special editions do not receive any mechanical upgrades. The Corolla Altis and Corolla Cross are available with 1.8-liter gasoline or 1.8-liter hybrid powertrains, while the Corolla Sport retains its 2.0-liter gasoline engine, the only option offered in the region.

The 60th Anniversary models are now available to pre-order in Taiwan. Prices start from NT$ 815,000 (US$ 25,900) for the Corolla Altis, NT$ 889,000 (US$ 28,300) for the Corolla Cross, and NT$ 979,000 (US$ 31,200) for the Corolla Sport.

Toyota is expected to unveil mildly updated versions of its entire Corolla lineup in Japan this July, including 60th anniversary editions. The local range includes the Sedan, Sport hatchback, Touring, and Cross body styles.

It remains unclear whether the automaker will apply the same approach in markets such as Europe and North America.
The current 12th-generation Toyota Corolla debuted in 2018 and received a facelift in 2022, meaning it is in its twilight years. The next iteration could arrive in 2027, inspired by the recent concept car, though Toyota hasn’t announced a launch date yet.
