Ranelagh restaurant announces closure after 14 years with big change planned
Ranelagh restaurant Mak has announced its closure after 14 years.Owner Jules Mak, who started his career with the opening of the Dublin 6 restaurant, has announced the location will close its doors on May 24. In its place will be Fuoco, an Italian, Mediterranean-inspired concept also headed by Mak.The Mak brand will become takeaway only, and a new location will open during the Summer with further plans for the brand. Mak launched in 2012 and became known for its Hong Kong style Dim Sum, authentic cuisine, and curated cocktails.From Mak came Wanderlust in Dalkey, Hush in Rathmines, Mak at Zozimus and current hotspot Parrilla in Ranelagh. Fuoco will focus on fresh food, exceptional wine, and an atmospheric dining experience.Speaking on the closure and new adventure, Jules Mak said: "Opening Mak at just 24 years old changed my life and taught me lessons I could never have imagined.
