Farnham Common hair salon recognised as 'Business Salon of the Year'

A hair salon in Farnham Common has been recognised at the Salon Business Awards 2026, taking home the prestigious ‘Business Salon of the Year’ award. Owner and founder Mikaela Martin of Ginger Rabbit collected the gold certification at an awards ceremony in London on March 16, following a tense, year-long assessment by judges. Grabbing gold felt especially good after Ginger Rabbit claimed second spot silver last year. “Winning gold is amazing,” she said. “It’s a testament to our amazing team, who work tirelessly to create a friendly, relaxed environment where clients feel welcomed. "We are absolutely thrilled to receive this incredible recognition.” The salon stood out among thousands of competitors in a highly competitive industry. Judges praised the Broadway-based salon for its strong client retention rate of 93 per cent, exceptional team care and business excellence. “This award is a testament to our passionate team, our loyal clients and our commitment to delivering exceptional experiences every single day,” said Mikaela. “I love going for the awards because it makes me analyse and look at my business. It makes me think about moving forward and making it better for the clients and my team.” To celebrate, Mikaela spoke of taking her staff on a trip to Italy, visiting the headquarters of a hair product company in Parma plus enjoying some sightseeing elsewhere.  Ginger Rabbit, which was named after the autumn colours of surrounding woodlands in Farnham Common and Burnham Beeches, celebrates 10 years this May. Mikaela hopes the salon will continue its mission to 'go forth and be fabulous' while putting Farnham Common firmly on the map.
