Kylie Jenner’s Embroidered Jeans Look Has Me Shopping the Throwback Denim Trend
Just like every other Timothée-and-Kylie fan, I’m always giggling and kicking my feet every time the couple is at a Knicks game. It’s basically our front row, nay, courtside view into their adorable relationship—and I’m locked in, refreshing Instagram and TikTok for every possible angle. But also as a fashion girl, I have a second agenda: I’m always analyzing what she’s wearing. And last night at Game 5 of the playoffs, when New York faced the Atlanta Hawks, the beauty mogul and entrepreneur stepped out in a casual outfit with a simple white tank, thong heeled sandals, and a pair of custom SS13 embroidered, beaded jeans by Isabel Marant—a nod to a trend that’s already been gaining traction. The look has that nostalgic, slightly boho vibe, and feels like a reminder of how wearable (and fun!) embroidered denim can be.XNY/Star Max//Getty ImagesThe Spring/Summer 2026 runways were full of statement denim, too. Designers showcased their own takes on the pants, with many leaning heavily into floral detailing—ranging from delicate, all-over embroidery to bolder, more oversized blooms. Others went a step further with embellishments like lace, beading (like Kylie’s!), and pops of color that gave them a fresh update.Naomi Rahim//Getty ImagesJoywear SS26Pietro D'Aprano//Getty ImagesBlumarine SS26This feels like a pretty clear sign of where fashion is heading—away from all the minimalism and quiet luxury that’s been dominating people’s wardrobes, and toward something more maximalist again. Basically, people are tired of the same black and white tees, and have an appetite for pieces that are a little more whimsical, colorful, and bold, and this style taps right into that shift! And if you’re like me and don’t quite have the budget for a luxury pair, I’ve been eyeing a version from Dillard’s. After way too much internet digging, they were the closest (and honestly cutest) pair I could find that resembled Kylie’s—similar floral detailing, same vibrant feel, just way more accessible. But Kylie has officially sent me down a rabbit hole, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t now eyeing a few other styles too.
