Anime convention coming to downtown Wilmington this summer
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Anime fans will have a new Port City destination this summer.A one-day convention dedicated to Japanese animation and pop culture will take place on Sunday, June 28, at the Hotel Ballast in downtown Wilmington.The Wilmington Anime-Fest 2026 convention will include a vendor marketplace with anime merchandise, collectibles, toys, artwork and apparel. Activities include cosplay, fan meetups and panels.Tickets are $20 and available online. Children 11 and under are admitted free with a paid adult ticket, limited to one free child per paid ticket.“As an anime collectors’ convention featuring multiple fandoms and attractions, Wilmington Anime-Fest continues to grow as a must-attend event in the region, bringing together fans of all experience levels in a welcoming and energetic setting,” said organizers.
