Batman: Hush Universe Officially Confirmed To Return Ahead of Highly-Anticipated Sequel
Legendary comic book writer Jeph Loeb is the mind behind some of the most celebrated Batman comics of the modern era, including Batman: Hush. The author is delivering another story set in that canon in 2026. Jeph Loeb returns to the world of Batman: Hush to bring DC Comics readers a new adventure in Batman/Wonder Woman: Truth #1. The "truth" in the title of this latest crossover between The Dark Knight and the Amazonian warrior princess refers to one of Diana of Themyscira's most valuable utilities, the Lasso of Truth. According to the comic's official logline, the Justice Leaguers must work together to retrieve the mystical deterrent of dishonesty after it falls into the hands of another iconic, but nightmarishly mischievous, duo.
The Lasso of Truth has been stolen, and the Caped Crusader and Amazon Princess race to ensure a safe return before it falls into the wrong hands. You won’t want to miss the aftermath of Batman: HUSH featuring the devious duo foolish enough to steal from Wonder Woman… the Joker and Harley Quinn!
DC Comics released a preview of Batman/Wonder Woman: Truth #1, including the cover art, credits page, and the first four pages of the narrative. It sees Wonder Woman unsuccessfully prying into Batman's relationship with Catwoman before they appear together (with Bruce Wayne exchanging his Batsuit for a tuxedo) at a gala where the Lasso of Truth is to be put on display. Readers will have to purchase the issue when it releases to see The Joker and Harley Quinn swiping Wonder Woman's lasso from Wayne's not-to-reliable security detail. The preview cuts off before it shows the two iconic Batman villains in action. Batman/Wonder Woman: Truth #1 marks Loeb's first time writing for Wonder Woman, for which he brought on Allan Heinberg as a consultant, but his latest of many times penning a Batman story, such as Batman: The Long Halloween, for instance. The one-shot teams the author with British artist Jim Cheung, whose previous DC contributions include Justice League Vol. 4 and Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium.

Batman/Wonder Woman: Truth #1 is only Jeph Loeb's most recent return to the world of Batman: Hush. In fact, the new comic takes place between the events of the classic Batman storyline, which was originally published in 2002 and 2003, and its more recent official sequel. Loeb teamed up with artist Jim Lee once again to deliver Batman: H2SH, meant to be read as "Hush 2," which first launched in March 2025. The highly anticipated event sees the return of the eponymous villain, who has since become a signature name in the Caped Crusader's rogues' gallery due to his especially personal connection to the vigilante's past. It is revealed by the end of the original twelve-part arc that Hush is the alter ego of Bruce Wayne's childhood friend, Thomas "Tommy" Elliott, whose life story essentially serves as the antithesis to Bruce's heroic origins. Thomas Wayne's foiling of Tommy's attempt to murder his own parents and inherit their fortune results in a grudge that curdles into a disturbing crime spree.
More than a year after the debut of its first issue, Batman: H2SH has yet to finish its four-issue arc, which depicts Tommy's vengeful bid against Bruce Wayne, but the long-awaited penultimate issue, Batman #163, is set to finally release in May 2026. Until then, Loeb treats fans with another taste of this world with Batman/Wonder Woman: Truth #1. Batman/Wonder Woman: Truth #1 hits the shelves on April 29.
