Northern Ireland leaders hold news conference on car bomb attack on police station
Northern Ireland First Minister Michelle O'Neill and deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly will be joined by Chief Constable Jon Boutcher, Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), and Brendan Mullan, Chair of NI Policing Board for a news conference on the attack at Dunmurry Police Station on Saturday night.
Two babies were among several residents being evacuated when a car bomb detonated inside a hijacked car in Dunmurry, the PSNI has said.
A senior officer said the attack outside the police station, southwest of Belfast city centre, at around 10.50pm, is being treated as attempted murder and "may well be the work of the New IRA".
