Benjamin Netanyahu receives cancer treatment
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has received treatment for cancer, his annual medical report has revealed.
The Prime Minister of Israel, who currently has a warrant out for his arrest from the International Criminal Court for alleged war crimes carried out during the Israeli-Hamas war, had his annual medical report published earlier this week.
The medical report says that during routine medical monitoring, doctors found an enlarged benign prostate, which led to them finding an early-stage malignant tumour.

In a post on Friday, Mr Netanyahu said that he received treatment for the tumor, with doctors removing the problem and leaving no trace of it.’
He added that he asked for the publication of the release to be delayed at the height of the US and Israel’s war with Iran, so he could prevent the Iranians from spreading ‘even more false propaganda against Israel.’
Mr Netanyahu said that he underwent surgery for the enlarged prostate about a year and a half ago, and was undergoing regular medical monitoring as a result — with the tumour, which he described as ‘a tiny spot of less than a centimetre,’ being discovered during his last check.

Mr Netanyahu elected to undergo surgery to have the tumour removed immediately, saying in a post on Twitter (X) that ‘when I’m given information in time about a potential danger, I want to address it immediately. This is true on the national level and also on the personal level.’
Mr Netanyahu’s health update comes as there were rumours that he had, in fact, died, after claims were made that a video of him addressing the country last month was AI-generated.
At one point in the video, Netanyahu raised his hands, and the skin on his palm made it look like he had six fingers.

An extra finger on a hand is a common error with AI photos and videos, leading to rumours surging about his death.
However, Netanyahu’s office put the rumours to bed this weekend, labelling them ‘fake news’.
A reporter from the Anadolu Agency asked the office if they had a statement on the claims that ‘Netanyahu has been assassinated’.
The office replied: ‘These are fake news; the prime minister is fine.’
