Exact day Ireland to bask in 20C heat as sunniest areas revealed
It’s been a glorious couple of days with little to no rain, and there’s plenty more of that to come with one weather expert confirming temperatures are set to climb.
Temperatures are expected to reach those similar to popular holiday destinations later in the week, following on from blue skies in recent days.
While there’s still a slight chill there, it’s hard to complain when the weather has been bright and dry.

In some welcome news, the best is yet to come, with temperatures predicted to hit 20 degrees before the week is out.
Alan O’Reilly of Carlow Weather took to X on Wednesday morning with the good news, revealing there would be ‘good sunny spells’ Friday through the weekend.
‘Temperatures will start to get up from tomorrow, Thursday,’ he added, ‘Up to 17 degrees, and by Friday we could see maybe even 19/20 degrees.

‘The heat is coming.’
National forecaster Met Éireann have confirmed that the high pressure is set to continue to largely dominate with mostly settled conditions and a ‘warming trend.’
They confirmed that some showers may still occur, but looking towards the weekend also noted that temperatures will be ‘above average for late April.’

Temperatures could climb to 18 on Thursday, though conditions will be breezy with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds.
On Friday, we’ll see ‘another dry, fine sunny day’ for the most part, with a warming sunshine in the afternoon potentially hitting 20 degrees.
Current indications suggest the trend won’t cease coming into the new week with sunny spells and dry conditions (with the exception of a few showers) forecast for Monday.
That said, the warm weather doesn’t come without its repercussions with Donegal Weather Channel sharing a Gorse & Wildfire Notice on X.
Taking to the social media giant, the weather experts warned of a Orange High Fire Risk, which has been in effect since Monday and will remain in effect through the weekend.
They said: ‘Current high-pressure conditions are forecast to transition to easterly high-pressure conditions during the span of this notice.
‘While some areas may be subject to rain during this time, elevated fire risks are expected in all areas during this period, especially western coastal and North-western areas.’
They went on to urge ‘increased vigilance’ and urged anyone who sees suspicious activity to report it to An Garda Síochána.
‘Visitors to public recreational areas should cooperate with all fire safety requirements and not light open fires or barbeques in high-risk areas.
