Wonder Woman is coming to the new DC Universe, and we have already seen her suit, with Diana Prince's look being exactly what the hero needed for a simple reason. Gal Gadot played Wonder Woman in two solo movies in the old DCEU franchise. The actress also appeared in multiple other projects, like 2017's Justice League and 2023's The Flash. That cemented Wonder Woman as one of the most important heroes in the live-action franchise. With Wonder Woman 3 canceled and all the DCEU Justice League heroes being recast for James Gunn's DC Universe, fans are now eagerly awaiting updates on when Diana will join the new franchise and who will play her. After a long time, there has been some progress on that. Gunn has confirmed that a Wonder Woman movie is in development for the DCU, with the project said to be a priority with the goal of starting filming as soon as the script is finished. The Wonder Woman solo movie's screenplay is being written by Ana Nogueira, whose work DC fans will get to know in June, as she penned Milly Alcock's Supergirl movie. Before Wonder Woman appears in live-action again and leads her own DCU movie, fans have already been given a peek at the new version of the character. After all, Wonder Woman showed up in the new DC Universe's first release. DC heroes like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and more made cameos in the animated Creature Commandos, which revealed Diana's DCU design.

No actress has been announced as the DCU's Wonder Woman, with the hero having a non-speaking role in Creature Commandos. In the show, Wonder Woman and other heroes were dead in a vision of a dark future shown by Circe, a Wonder Woman villain, to Amanda Waller. In that vision, Wonder Woman wore her classic "swimsuit" costume from DC Comics.

This goes against what Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman looked like in the DCEU, as that live-action DC franchise opted for a grittier, armored look for the heroine. Gunn's DCU is making the right move, as not only does it make it easy to differentiate both versions of Wonder Woman, but it is also a more vibrant comic book that connects to David Corenswet's Superman donning the red trunks. Given how the Creature Commandos Wonder Woman cameo was part of a vision of a future that will not come to pass, as the evil Princess Ilana Rostovic is dead, then Diana's look might not be final. That said, the DCU sequence does indicate that Gunn has Wonder Woman's classic comic book design in mind.
When Will Wonder Woman's DCU Debut Happen?
At the time of writing, Wonder Woman's DCU debut could be closer than many expected. While her solo movie, which seemed to be when Wonder Woman would enter the franchise, is still without a finalized script, Diana Prince is rumored to appear in a 2027 release. That would be the Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow, which recently cast Adria Arjona in a mystery role.
Arjona became the fan-favorite for the DCU Wonder Woman months before she landed the undisclosed DCU role, which could indicate that she is playing Diana. After all, the same happened with Corenswet before he was cast as Superman. If Wonder Woman is not in Man of Tomorrow, then her solo movie would likely become a 2028 priority for DC Studios.
