Crimecall assault accused granted bail
A man who was arrested after Gardaí made a public appeal on Crimecall has been granted bail after being charged with assault.
Abdelilah Habbouly (36), of Meadow Park, The Meadows, Hollyhill, Cork, was arrested in connection with the unprovoked assault on a young woman on Oliver Plunkett Street, Cork, on the 25th of November 2025.
Habbouly is charged with assault causing harm contrary to Section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997.
Appearing before Cork District Court, he was granted bail and free legal aid, the Irish Examiner reports.
The case was adjourned until the 29th of June.
Footage of the attack shows a man approach a young woman with whom he has no contact before he elbows her in the face, immediately knocking her unconscious.
After this, the accused leaves the area despite a friend of the victim, who suffered a broken orbital bone, attempting to confront him.
