Even though Glenn Diesen is willing to give Trump credit for having good intentions at the beginning of his political career – ending the endless wars and focusing on reindustrializing the US – what he has done in his second term has isolated the United States from the rest of the world diplomatically. Israel is an albatross around Trump’s neck. He only came to power because the Empire was collapsing anyway on account of the parasitic nature of unregulated finance capitalism, the people’s standard of living was going down and they wanted a change. He was saying some of the things they wanted to hear, so they went for him. But Trump was just being the salesman he always has been. I once had a salesman tell me that the less he knows about the product he is selling, the better he can bamboozle the customer into buying it. Trump did succeed in selling himself to the public but unfortunately he knew nothing about the product he was selling. The Trump administration is the Empire’s death struggle before it succumbs to progressive forces and the march of history. We will now see what will emerge in the United States in the wake of that collapse. There will surely be a depression. People will be suffering. The last time this happened we got FDR, who defeated the finance capitalists, if not permanently at least temporarily, and reindustrialized the country. We could get a leader just as good or better this time if we the people work together to elevate to power leaders who really represent our interests. This time, I think, the rest of the world will help us.
