2027 Nissan Rogue Revealed with New Design and E-Power Hybrid Setup

Nissan has revealed the first images of the new 2027 Rogue Hybrid. The new Rogue will use Nissan's e-Power series-hybrid powertrain, marking the brand's first application of this technology in the United States. The Rogue e-Power will offer all-wheel drive thanks to two electric motors, but we don't yet have detailed specs. Here is our first look at the new Nissan Rogue, which will arrive for the 2027 model year. Its more modern styling is noteworthy, but the big headline is its series-hybrid powertrain called "e-Power," which operates differently than most other hybrids. Nissan hopes that this new 2027 Rogue Hybrid will allow its compact SUV to better compete with the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, both of which currently dominate the compact hybrid SUV market. The new Rogue's exterior photos show a similar overall shape as before, albeit with entirely new front- and rear-end styling. The headlights have an interesting pattern that's integrated into the grille, while the grid-like taillights seem to match up with a design element on the D-pillar. We don't yet know the SUV's dimensions, but we imagine the Rogue will be slightly larger than the outgoing model. Nissan also hasn't yet released interior photos, but we expect it to have larger display screens and the same two-row, five-seat layout as before.NissanThis new hybrid setup will be available at launch; while Nissan has been selling e-Power vehicles globally for some time now, this marks the series-hybrid powertrain's first application in the U.S. market. Unlike other hybrids, which use both a gasoline engine and one or more electric motors to power the vehicle, the Rogue's e-Power setup will use only the electric motors to power the wheels, with the gasoline engine serving as a generator to charge the battery pack. That makes it different than a traditional plug-in hybrid. We drove a Europe-market version of the e-Power setup last year and found it offered smooth, EV-like power delivery, but the U.S.-bound 2027 Rogue's setup will be more powerful and will offer all-wheel drive courtesy of dual electric motors. One motor will power the front wheels and one will power the rear; we don't yet know which gasoline engine the Rogue Hybrid will use.NissanAccording to a report from Automotive News, the new-generation Rogue will be available only as a hybrid for 2027, while the outgoing gas-only model will remain in production even after the new model launches. Later, Nissan will add a nonhybrid version of the new Rogue, but we don't have an exact timeline on when that switchover will happen. Nissan hopes that the hybrid will make up a majority of Rogue sales, as is the case with the CR-V (the RAV4 is now only available as a hybrid). Nissan currently sells a 2026 Rogue Hybrid, but that plug-in hybrid model is a rebadged version of the Mitsubishi Outlander Hybrid, and the Nissan model was always intended as a stopgap until this new version arrives.Look for more information on the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid to come soon, as we expect this new model to arrive in showrooms by the end of this year.➡️ Skip the lot.
