Filton murder latest as man died of 'number of stab wounds'
Murder investigation launched in Filton: Police StatementPolice have confirmed that the man who was found dead in the back garden of a home in north Bristol died from a number of stab wounds, as a major murder investigation continues.A post-mortem examination of the man, who has not yet been named by police but is understood to be in his 20s, was carried out on Friday, police have confirmed.And the initial results of that post-mortem are that the victim died after sustaining a number of stab wounds, police said.Detectives believe the man was attacked on the evening of Wednesday, April 8, and collapsed and died in the back garden of a home in Cleve Road in Filton, close to the A38 and along an alley path that runs along the back gardens of the homes there.He was discovered in the early hours of Thursday, April 9, and a major police murder investigation got underway. Today, Sunday April 11, police confirmed they had made an arrest - a man in his 20s had been detained on suspicion of murder in a major update to the inquiry.A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police confirmed the cause of death was stab wounds - meaning the unnamed man is the latest victim in Bristol’s knife crime epidemic.“A forensic post-mortem examination was conducted on Friday 10 April.
