'I was dying in bed when I saw my dead grandmother who saved me – but she wasn't alone'
A woman who says she effectively “died” while suffering from an asthma attack has described how she had a vision of being restored to life by the spirit of her grandmother, who had passed away some years before.Amber Baker had suffered with asthma since childhood, but one particularly severe attack, brought on by a bronchial infection, left her hovering between life and death. Amber had already been treated in hospital, but had been sent home after being given a prescription for steroids, and was using a CPAP to help stabilise her breathing.Then, in the early hours of one morning in November 2018, Amber started having an asthma attack and wasn’t able to reach her phone to call for help. As her consciousness began to fade, her late grandmother Elaine appeared and came to her aid.She recalled: “I saw a white, hazy figure walk through my door and come to me, immediately laying her hands over my forehead. She began to calm me and breathe into my body and chest.“My whole body started to go up and down and I felt as if my chest was opening with every breath more and more. I was completely taken over by her essence, given one breath after another, breathing open my chest and feeling peace and love.” But Amber also became aware of other presences around her.Amber says that a second sprit, named Mary, was working with her late grandmother to help her fight off the potentially-fatal asthma attack: “She was pure, unconditional love and didn’t say anything but felt like an anchor.”Amber claims the two figures helped her to breathe for what felt like 30 minutes, and miraculously, she felt her chest expanding with every breath.She said: “I was on my side and then my grandma’s spirit moved me to my back and my hands automatically went up as if to receive: She said ‘receive’ over and over again."I felt another layer of opening and the tightness began to subside as my whole body was permeated by a rapture of love and deep breathing, opening my whole chest and torso. I asked her to please not stop until I could comfortably go to sleep.“Knowing I was communicating directly with my grandma, she assured me she wouldn’t,” Amber added. “I was totally aware of what was happening, and completely astonished but grateful at the same time, knowing she was saving my life.”Incredibly, Amber then described seeing a third presence standing at the foot of her bed – whom she identified as the “gigantic” form of Archangel Michael.She said: “His frequency filled the entire room and all of my awareness. He had a warm, orange, reddish glow.“His features weren’t defined the way we see a person – he had the shape of a human form, but his body was fluid energy, moving like water, glowing with light.”It was at this point that Amber felt herself “leaving” her body and travelling down a “tunnel of light”, before the three beings shared a message with her. She explained: “They said that I am just a seed in the universe, a physical body that is not bound by my physical body but boundless to unlimited consciousness and power.“As my mind expanded into this awareness my body felt smaller and farther away. I could feel myself tapping into an omnipresent, omniscient power and entering another level of consciousness. I knew I was meeting God."This moment, Amber says, completely changed the course of her life: “Archangel Michael told me that my angels, Mother Mary and he, are always with me and that they would bestow upon me a miraculous healing to show me the power of this unlimited source that we can access at any time.”The next thing she recalled was being in the “afterlife”, while her ‘guardian angels’ healed her body. She said: “I had crossed over but I was not dead.”Amber says she was “reborn” back into her body, and felt “alive in a way I had never felt before”. She said: “I felt like a completely different person. I knew my divine presence had been activated."Amber now works as a spiritual teacher and healer. While her experience might seem improbable, it chimes with near-death experiences reported by many thousands of people over the centuries. Individuals who have been close to death often report a sense of detachment from the body, feelings of peace and joy, passing through a tunnel, and encountering a bright “spiritual” light or, as in Amber’s case, deceased relatives
