Andrew Garfield addresses major Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer theory
Andrew Garfield has addressed an online conspiracy theory that he will feature in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. After the film's first trailer dropped, some fans were convinced that a scene had been edited to remove some characters, a trick Marvel has employed before. The scene in question sees Spider-Man face off with some ninjas but, upon closer inspection, you can see that the ninjas are below Spidey's eye-level, meaning there's room for some other characters in the shot below Tom Holland. Fans have speculated that the missing characters could be Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk or Sadie Sink's character, who fans believe is Jean Grey. Though the theory may seem far-fetched, back in 2021, Marvel removed Garfield and Maguire from the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home, so as not to spoil the surprise of their appearance. Appearing on Capital FM's Breakfast Show, Garfield was asked about the theory and responded: "This feels like a reach to be honest. Sony Pictures"Like, what do you mean there's room for other characters? It's literally just space underneath Spider-Man."The actor added: "There's room for more characters in every frame of the film probably."When Garfield was pressed further he called the questions an "absolutely ludicrous, conspiracy-theory-level attempt at investigative journalism", before cheekily adding: "You noticed that I didn't say I'm not in it though."Meanwhile, Sadie Sink previously addressed the rumours that her character is the MCU's Jean Grey.NetflixRelated: UK film release datesThe actor told Entertainment Weekly: "[The rumours were] happening before I even knew that I would be working on this project.
