Happy Easter weekend! Whether you’re hunting for chocolate eggs, enjoying a long weekend off work, or just looking to kick back and binge-watch some great new content, Netflix has delivered a massive holiday haul. Here’s what’s new and what’s trending on Netflix in the US.
It’s been an exceptionally busy week for the streaming service, with a staggering 88 new additions in total (65 movies and 23 series) hitting the library. That’s mostly because of the first-of-the-month turnover, which we covered with some additional recommendations midway through the week. If you’re overwhelmed by choice, don’t worry—we’ve picked out a few of the best new releases to help you decide what to watch.
Speaking of helping you find out what’s new. We’ve finally rolled out our Flixable app onto iOS devices. We’ve already received some fantastic feedback and we’re rolling out an update now incorporating some of it. You can still find an expanded list of everything new on Netflix US on our hub page, with advanced filters and more information than you’ll find below.
Here’s your complete Easter weekend roundup for what’s new on Netflix.
Best New Movies & Series Added This Week
Ágora (2009)
Genre: Historical Drama, Romance | Director: Alejandro AmenábarCast: Rachel Weisz, Max Minghella, Oscar Isaac
If you’re looking for a sweeping, visually stunning epic to sink your teeth into this weekend, look no further than Ágora.
Set in late 4th-century Roman Egypt, the film stars Rachel Weisz as the brilliant astronomer and philosopher Hypatia of Alexandria. As her city is consumed by religious turmoil and the clash between science and dogmatic belief, Hypatia fights to save the accumulated wisdom of the ancient world. It’s a thought-provoking, beautifully shot historical drama that often flies under the radar, making it a perfect hidden gem to uncover this weekend.
Bloodhounds (Season 2) Netflix Original
Genre: Action, Crime, Thriller | Language: KoreanCast: Woo Do-hwan, Lee Sang-yi
Need a shot of adrenaline to wake you up from your chocolate coma? The smash-hit Korean action series Bloodhounds is finally back for its highly anticipated second season. Gun-woo and Woo-jin return, bringing their lethal boxing skills to the underground criminal world once again. Expect tighter choreography, higher stakes, and some of the best hand-to-hand combat sequences currently available on television.
28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026)
Genre: Horror, Sci-Fi | Director: Nia DaCostaCast: Ralph Fiennes, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams, and Erin Kellyman
If you need a break from pastel colors and fluffy bunnies, Netflix has scored the streaming rights to the latest terrifying chapter in the legendary zombie franchise. The Bone Temple continues to explore the desolate, infected wasteland of a collapsed Britain. It’s gritty, relentless, and perfectly continues the revival of the iconic horror saga.
We’ve got good news too. If you’re on the advertising tier of Netflix, this movie, along with all of Sony Pictures’ other first window titles, is now unblocked as we covered yesterday.
Merrily We Roll Along (2025)
Genre: Musical, Drama | Director: Maria FriedmanCast: Jonathan Groff, Daniel Radcliffe, Lindsay Mendez
Okay, theater nerds, this one’s for you. Merrily We Roll Along has finally arrived on Netflix as one of the other Sony Pictures releases this week, bringing the filmed version of Maria Friedman’s Tony Award-winning Broadway revival directly to your living room. It’s a taping of the Stephen Sondheim classic that famously flopped upon its original release but has since become a cult favorite.
Merrily We Roll Along tells the story of three friends—Franklin, Charley, and Mary—and the disintegration of their friendship over the years, but with a twist: the story is told in reverse chronological order.
