Blake Lively Released a Statement After Judge Dismissed 10 of Her Claims Against Justin Baldoni, Including Harrassment
Blake Lively shared a statement to her Instagram Story on April 3 after a judge dismissed the majority of her claims about her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni.The former Gossip Girl star had 10 out of her 13 claims—one of which included sexual harassment—against Baldoni thrown away the judge working on her case.In the statement, Lively promised to tell her story when they go trial on May 18.Blake Lively is going to continue fighting for justice in her case against Justin Baldoni. The It Ends With Us actress took to Instagram on April 3 to address her legal case against Baldoni, after a judge dismissed 10 out of 13 of her claims—including sexual harassment, and attempts on Baldoni’s behalf to create a smear campaign against her.“I'm grateful to the court's ruling which allows my case to be presented to a jury next month, and for the ability to finally tell my story in full at trial, for my own sake, but also for those who don't have the same opportunity to...many of whom I have known and loved deeply in my life, and the countless I'll never know,” the statement began.InstagramShe continued, “The last thing I wanted in my life was a lawsuit, but I brought this case because of the pervasive retaliation I faced, and continue to, for privately and professionally asking for a safe working environment for myself and others. I hope the court's decision shows others that, as unfathomably painful as it is, you can speak up.”The Gossip Girl alum also reflected on the media circus that was created after her case against Baldoni initially came to light.“Don't be distracted by the digital soap opera. The constant packaging on this lawsuit as a ‘celebrity drama’ is not only irresponsible, but it is by design: to keep you from seeing yourself in my story,” she added.As a refresher, Lively first filed her sexual harassment complaint against Baldoni Baldoni in December 2024 and alleged misconduct on his behalf while they filmed It Ends With Us. On April 2, Lewis J. Liman—the judge on Lively’s case—threw away most of her claims, leaving her only to contest breach of contract and retaliation claims that she filed against Baldoni’s company Wayfarer Studios; the trial will begin on May 18.“I will never stop doing my part in fighting to expose the systems and people who seek to harm, shame, silence and retaliate against victims,” Lively concluded her statement. “I know it's a privilege to stand up.
