ICE Technologies Founder and CEO Rubaiyat Jamil passes away
Entrepreneur Rubaiyat Jamil, 46, founder and CEO of ICE Technologies, has passed away.He breathed his last on-field during a cricket match in Chattogram’s Hathazari yesterday. He was the son of late Mahbub Jamil, former special assistant to the chief adviser of a caretaker government in 2008-09, and chairman of Singer Bangladesh Ltd.Rubaiyat was involved in multiple startups ranging from technology, food retail, elevators and escalators and industrial cooling solutions.He was a former director of Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Dhaka, and an active member of International Chamber of Commerce Bangladesh, German Chamber of Commerce and Industries, BASIS, Gulshan Club, International Club Dhaka, Gulshan Youth Club and Savar Golf Club.In addition, he was a passionate cricketer and was a part of the Bangladesh under-16 and under-19 cricket teams in the 1990s.He left behind his mother, sister, wife, three daughters and host of relatives and friends to mourn his death.His namaz-e-janaza will be held tomorrow after Zohr prayers at Gulshan Azad Mosque, after which he will be laid to rest in Banani Graveyard.
