Release Schedule and Live Vote Announced for Kevin Hart's New Stand-Up Comedy Competition Series for Netflix
Last Summer we announced that Netflix and Kevin Hart had teamed up to create a new competition series and we can now share the release schedule and details of you, the viewer, can vote for the winner! The series will pull back the curtain on the gritty, hilarious, and often unpredictable path of a stand-up career.
The series, we can now tell you, will start on April 20th and is titled “Funny AF with Kevin Hart” – the show will also include the live viewer voting as recently used in the weekly Star Search reboot. Keegan-Michael Key, Tom Segura, Kumail Nanjiani, Chelsea Handler, and Nikki Glaser will appear as special guest judges throughout the series.
Over the course of the eight-episode series, contestants from all over the US will face rigorous tests that mirror the real-life journey of a comedian, from brutal open mics to bombed sets and rewrites to the pressure of big-stage performances. The competition will give viewers an unvarnished look at comedy’s darkest corners and brightest spotlights with challenges inspired by some of the comics’ actual career trajectories. Spread across 3 weeks, the winner will get their own Netflix stand-up special!
Kevin Hart travels the country with the help of comedy legends to find the next stand-up superstar — with the winner crowned live by your real-time vote.
