Hottest day of the year as temperatures soar
The weather has finally taken a turn, and Met Éireann is forecasting Thursday to be the hottest day of the year so far.
It’s been a temperamental few weeks, with plenty of wind and rain, but the sun is finally poking through.
While still misty and foggy to kickstart the day, Thursday is set to end up being a fairly dry and sunny day.

It comes not long after a number of weather warnings were issued for tourist hotspots in Spain.
The Spanish Weather Agency made the notices ahead of the arrival of Storm Therese to the region.
Yellow warnings have now been upgraded to Orange across the entire area, but one region in particular is said to be right in the storm’s path and could see the worst of the weather.
The warnings come as thousands of Irish people head south for some winter sunshine, at what is usually one of the busiest times of the year in this part of Spain.
