‘Monarch’ unleashes more monster mayhem
In “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters,” time is flexible.When the Apple TV series returned for its second season Feb. 27, it picked up moments after the first season’s cliffhanger. But in reality — and for some of the characters — two years have passed.That gap is most visible in Kentaro Randa, played by Ren Watabe. While Anna Sawai’s Cate Randa and Kiersey Clemons’ May Olowe-Hewitt remain trapped in a liminal realm, Kentaro has spent two years on Earth, growing into someone better equipped to confront family tensions — and the threat of another monster attack.
