Joe Rogan hits out at 'casual' UFC 326 fans as podcaster facing backlash
Joe Rogan has come under fire for labelling UFC fans at Saturday's 326 event "casuals" after becoming frustrated with their booing during Charles Oliveira's victory over Max Holloway.Oliveira, 36, stole the show at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, as he dominated Holloway, 34, to claim the BMF title, with judges scoring the five-round contest 50-45 in his favor to see him add to the lightweight world championship he won in 2021.Also on the night, UFC CEO Dana White finally announced the full lineup for this summer's White House event, though he offered an honest admission that it was "difficult" to put together the card for June 14.READ MORE: Dana White struggles to find words as UFC White House fight falls throughREAD MORE: Donald Trump gets it badly wrong over Marco Rubio's son in awkward momentOliveira drew plenty of criticism for his wrestling-heavy approach against Holloway, as his grappling took his opponent down at will in the lightweight main event, leading many to brand the fight "boring" and prompting booing from the crowd toward the end of the fourth round. This did not go down well with Rogan, who was on his usual color commentary duty for the fight, with the podcaster soon hitting out at the crowd for their reaction."Listen to these casuals booing," Rogan remarked during the live UFC 326 broadcast. "How do you not appreciate this complete domination by a master?"Just like the crowd's booing didn't sit well with Rogan, his comments also irked those online, with many making their feelings clear on what he had to say. "Rogan can be p---- all he wants. There is a specific type of fighter that should be in BMF title fights and its certainly not Oliveira," one fan posted on X."Casuals? The sport fell off Joe. Wake up to reality," said another."Rogan calling fans 'casuals' for booing that snoozefest is peak gatekeeping," wrote a third. "BMF title fights should be absolute wars with finishes, not 15 minutes of Oliveira laying on Holloway. We want violence and entertainment, not a grappling clinic. Crowd knows better than the booth sometimes, Joe."A fourth user commented: "Joe Rogan is dumb as hell", while a fifth added: "Those fights sucked. F*--- Joe Rogan."A sixth then chimed: "His commentary tonight had to have been rage bait."UFC fans watching from home were also left raging when Paramount+ cut to black in the middle of Saturday's title fight. Between the second and third rounds, the live stream cut out for some time, showing a black screen with no audio. The stream eventually returned with about three minutes remaining in the third round, missing around two minutes of fight action, leaving fans once again voicing their frustrations on social media."No f------ chance @UFC went down on Paramount. All these years streaming thru second hand sites and now it’s on a platform I can watch without PPV and it crashes? No shot," another user spat.
