Conor McGregor has odd reaction after White House UFC snub
Conor McGregor will not be making his UFC return in Washington this summer after being snubbed for June’s White House event.
McGregor had been publicly targeting the event ever since it was announced, repeatedly promoting it himself.
However, during Saturday night’s UFC 326 broadcast, the Dubliner’s name was not called out in the big card reveal.

To rub salt in his wounds, McGregor’s anticipated opponent for the unprecedented June 14 event, Michael Chandler, did secure a spot on the card.
Despite the bad news for the 37-year-old, McGregor decided to praise the selections with multiple posts on social media.
After sharing the full card on his Instagram story, McGregor wrote: ‘Love it!’

In another post, he added: ‘Iconic! Worth every Red Cent!’
McGregor has been adamant in recent months that a UFC return is soon to be on the cards, but others don’t share the same beliefs.
During the post-fight press conference on Saturday, Dana White shared a very negative update on the Irishman.

White dismissed the idea of a McGregor comeback by stating that a deal is ‘not even close’ for his first fight in five years.
However, that hasn’t stopped McGregor from publicly declaring his eagerness to find an opponent.
During a recent appearance on Chael Sonnen’s Smash Cast podcast, the Dubliner claimed that the UFC are eyeing the International Fight Week card on July 11 for his comeback.

McGregor said: ‘As I was aware, it was the White House. I was up for the White House. I know the administration was strong for me to be in the White House. It was McGregor versus Chandler.
‘The story was built in; Chandler is a standup guy, he’s electric in the cage. He comes to bring it. I’m the Mac.
‘I’ll fly through the air with an opponent like Chandler. It would have been dynamite as a fight.

‘And somewhere down the line… [they said] maybe we’re going to go with you for International Fight Week.
‘[I said] no problem [and they said] maybe we’re going to leave Chandler…
‘I have to get back. I’m eager to get back. I’ve been out and love myself. So I’m sorry, Chandler, it is what it is.’
He went on to confirm that his return to the Octagon will be at welterweight.
Despite not saying who he wants to fight on the podcast, McGregor was quick to share his eagerness to take on Charles Oliveira.
The Brazilian defeated Max Holloway on Saturday night, leading to McGregor calling him out on X shortly afterwards.
He declared: ‘If they want, I’ll spank Charlie.’
This came just after McGregor called Oliveira’s win a ‘shockingly bad fight’ and told the Brazilian: ‘Hang your head bad. Good luck. Don’t crown that belt.’
