The highest-grossing Hollywood animation of all time is coming to streaming soon

A record-breaking Disney animated film will be streaming very soon (Picture: Disney) Film fans rejoice, for the biggest movie of 2025 will be available to stream from the comfort of your own home very soon. A record-breaking sequel to a Disney animated classic praised for ‘never getting old’ and as ‘the best childhood movie’, Zootropolis 2 made huge waves at the end of last year. Following up on 2016’s Zootropolis (known as Zootopia in the US), this second film re-visits odd-couple friends, rabbit Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and wily fox Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman). Despite the near-decade between releases, it’s just a week later for our intrepid duo of Zootopia, who are now working together in an official capacity as detectives for the ZPD after managing to uncover a conspiracy involving the disappearance of predators last time around. Now they are on the trail of a mysterious reptile (Gary De’Snake, voiced by Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan), who arrives in Zootopia and threatens to turn the mammal metropolis upside down as snakes haven’t been seen in the area for years. Going undercover in new parts of town, Nick and Judy’s investigation takes them deep into conspiracies and murky territory as they fight to clear their names after being framed. After earning a huge $1.85billion (£1.39bn) at the box office following its release in December, Zootropolis 2 smashed past multiple Disney records – including that of Inside Out 2 – to officially become the highest-grossing animated MPA (Motion Picture Association) animated movie of all time. Only China’s Ne Zha 2 has a larger haul, with $2.2bn (£1.65bn) from its release near the start of last year. Following its success, it will be hopping its way onto our TV screens at home by landing on Disney Plus on March 11. There’s the return of much-loved side characters (Picture: Disney) Zootropolis attracted strong reviews upon release, landing it an impressive score of 91% with critics on Rotten Tomatoes and an even higher score of 96% from audience members. ‘Oh I loved every second of it, [a] must-see if you haven’t seen yet,’ urged fan Kelsey A, while Christian commented: ‘Comical. Heartfelt. Suspenseful. Everything you’d want to follow up Zootopia.’ What did you think of Zootropolis 2?
