‘You can’t bomb for change’: Starmer refuses to join strikes on Iran | LBC
Jeremy Corbyn and Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey join Andrew Marr to discuss the UK's position on the war in Iran.
Sir Keir Starmer has defended his decision not to join US and Israeli strikes on Iran as he declared the country "must never get its hands" on nuclear weapons.
It comes after US President Donald Trump said he was 'very disappointed' in Sir Keir for initially refusing to allow the use of the UK-US Diego Garcia base to target Iran.
Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn backs Starmer's position, insisting 'you can't bomb for change.'
However, he wants a 'stronger message' from the prime minister, to ensure there would be no U-turn on the position.
Sir Ed Davey warns of a civil war in Iran, saying the Lib Dems would not back any possible move from the government to join in the bombardment.
