Confirmed closure for River Island in Chantry Place
It has been revealed that the River Island store in Chantry Place will shut this spring as part of a raft of closures nationwide.
Originally thought to be closing in January, the shop will now serve its final customers on April 11.

General manager of Chantry Place, Jo Bates, said: "We can confirm that River Island in Chantry Place will cease trading on April 11 and we’d like to wish all of the staff well for the future.
"Our priority remains to provide our customers with a diverse mix of retailers, and we hope to bring you updates on new store openings soon."
More than 30 other River Island stores in the country closed their doors at the start of the year.
Last July, the chain announced these closures as part of a restructuring plan after it had a pre-tax loss of £32.3m in 2024.
Another major fashion brand that has closed this year is Select in Castle Quarter, which served customers for the final time in January.
