Interview With The Vampire Season 3 Release Month Confirmed For AMC With Gritty New Lestat Poster
The release month for Interview with the Vampire season 3, titled The Vampire Lestat, has been confirmed. It's been a long wait for new episodes of AMC's acclaimed supernatural drama, with the Interview with the Vampire season 2 finale airing in June 2024. But the upcoming installment will focus on the titular character as he tells his own story. He'll do that, in part, by starting a band and going on tour. That is reflected in the new announcement, which narrows down the wait for new episodes. After going through a name for its third installment to focus on Sam Reid's breakout portrayal, it's now confirmed that Interview with the Vampire season 3 will premiere in June. AMC shared the news via a tweet, along with a poster that highlights Lestat's rockstar turn. Check it out below:
The upcoming episodes adapt the second book in Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles, and the change of the title is intended to reflect that. It's described as a season of television that's centered on rock and roll, with Lestat embarking on a multi-city tour. But his fun takes a bit of a turn because he's also being hunted by familiar faces from his past. Ultimately, as Lestat's band gains popularity, Lestat’s influence over vampires and humans increases. This leaves others to contend with Lestat's unnerving power, not to mention an unnatural surge in vampires that's known as the Great Conversion.
Along with Reid being at the center of The Vampire Lestat, after taking on somewhat of a smaller role during season 2, the Interview with the Vampire cast will welcome back Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, and Delainey Hayles. They respectively play Louis de Pointe du Lac, Armand, Daniel Molloy, and Claudia. As has been the case for Interview with the Vampire, which has expanded into an entire universe of shows for AMC and AMC+, there will be new additions to the ensemble. Those include Zero Dark Thirty and The King's Speech star Jennifer Ehle in the role of Gabriella, Lestat's mother, plus Damien Atkins, Ella Ballentine, Jeanine Serralles, and Christopher Heyerdahl.
The Woman King's Sheila Atim casting followed as Akasha, the mother of all vampires. Rounding out the new arrivals, Noah Reid, Ryan Kattner, Seamus Patterson, and Sarah Swire will play Lestat's band members. It's a lot of fresh moving parts for the adaptation, which has marked a spot for itself as one of the best television shows of the past few years. There will be the same creative team helping to steer the various stories behind the scenes. Rolin Jones returns as executive producer and showrunner in addition to Mark Johnson, Hannah Moscovitch, Christopher Rice, and the late Anne Rice. After a lengthy promotional campaign, which has included hints of Lestat's return, the wait for more Interview with the Vampire will soon be over.
