A mom named Alicia, who goes by @alicia_michelle87 on TikTok, sadly lost her 13-year-old daughter Nevaeh to bullying. Alicia is now sharing her story in an effort to teach the importance of kindness, as Alicia is convinced that if Nevaeh’s school had done things differently, she would still be here.
There were multiple kids who bullied Nevaeh to the point that she took her own life, and yet, according to Alicia, none of them have faced consequences for what they did.
On August 28th, 2024, Alicia’s son Joel, who was only eight back then, found Nevaeh in her bedroom. Alicia was on the other side of Nevaeh’s bedroom wall, making her favorite dinner, spaghetti.
Alicia spoke to Nevaeh just fifteen minutes before she took her own life. Nevaeh walked into the kitchen with some papers for Alicia to sign for her, and one was a permission slip for the 8th grade trip happening at the end of the year.
But at the time, Nevaeh was on her third day of the 8th grade. She was smiling as she told Alicia about a teacher she really liked, and she was in good spirits.
“There was absolutely nothing from her behavior that told me that I should be worried about her. She was bouncing up and down, and she was smiling, and everything that she was doing was telling me that she was looking forward to things,” Alicia explained, addressing a horrible remark someone made at her, wondering where she was when Nevaeh made that fateful decision.
“She was thinking about the end of school, 8th grade trip, and was excited about that. So, I was in the house.”
On September 2nd, Nevaeh passed away in the hospital after being taken off life support for ultimately being declared brain dead.
Before saying goodbye to her daughter, Alicia washed and braided Nevaeh’s hair. She placed a tiara on her head, as Nevaeh will always be Alicia’s little princess. Alicia’s sister painted Nevaeh’s nails pink.

“Leaving her behind in that hospital was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I wanted to take her home. I didn’t want her to be cold, and the hospital sheets were so white and thin, so I left her with the pink blanket I had bought her the very night she took her life,” Alicia said in another video.
“Those memories will forever be imprinted in my mind. From the moment we found her til the moment I walked out of her hospital room. I couldn’t even turn to look back because I was afraid that if I did, I’d run back in and they would have to physically remove me.”
“…Her story ended, and I wasn’t ready. So in order to keep her story going, I share her story. I hope to make some change in her name, so her story won’t ever have to end.”
“Let her story be a reminder to teach your children to walk through life with kindness. To love instead of hate and to understand instead of judge.”
