Customs Support Group buys Dundalk customs broker Beagans

Customs Support Group (CSG) has acquired the long-established Dundalk customs broker Beagans Ltd as it seeks to cement its position as Ireland's leading customs clearance provider. CSG, which is a leading independent provider of customs clearance and trade solutions, has added the family-run, AEO-certified business to its roster of companies to further expand its footprint in Ireland and the UK. With the acquisition, CSG has a workforce of around 250 specialists and has increased its cross-border support and operational capacity. Founded in 1953 and now in its third generation of family ownership, Beagans Ltd has deep expertise in customs clearance and excise duty management, along with strong capabilities in the food and agriculture sector. The company has built trusted, long-standing relationships with clients in Ireland and Northern Ireland and has extensive knowledge of the local market, particularly in handling exports and imports through Dublin Port. CSG said the deal will strengthen its capabilities and reinforces the group’s strategic presence across Ireland and the UK–Ireland trade corridor. Leveraging Beagans Limited’s digital capabilities, including modern customs software for fast and accurate declarations, CSG will expand and streamline its operations across the region. John Wegman, CEO of Customs Support Group, said the acquisition further consolidates the firm’s position across the island of Ireland by adding scale and depth to its operations, increasing capacity to manage complex customs cases and broadening capabilities in areas such as deep sea trade and excise goods. “Acquiring Beagans Limited is a significant milestone for expanding our Irish operations and reinforcing the industries we serve. “By combining Beagans Limited’s deep market expertise with our European network, we can offer clients even more comprehensive solutions, greater capacity, and a streamlined UK–Ireland goods flow.” CSG entered the Irish market in 2021 with the acquisition of Bell Transport & Logistics Ltd and has built a reputation for efficient, reliable customers solutions in complex post-Brexit environments.
