Alphabet's Ultra-Rare 100-Year Bond; Starmer Survives, For Now | The Pulse 2/10/2026
Alphabet has gone on a global bond spree, raising $20 billion in its biggest ever US dollar bond sale. Google's parent company is also selling notes denominated in Swiss francs and sterling for the first time, including an ultra-rare 100-year sterling bond. It's the first century bond issued by a tech company since the dot-com era.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer lives to fight another day, after securing the public backing of every member of his cabinet. It follows a dramatic day in which the leader of the Labour Party in Scotland called for Starmer to resign over his decision to appoint Peter Mandelson as US Ambassador, despite his ties to the convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
